Mr. Blue

There's nothing like a value painting to create mood. In this case Ultramarine blue and White.

What flavor?

While I was growing up in Panama I would buy snowcones or "Raspados" from these vendors who would wander around the city ringing little bells as they approached. I was always excited to hear this. At the time they were $.25, now they're a dollar. Man I hate inflation.

Double Basses!

Another in a series of orchestra paintings using a limited palette -  White, Yellow Ochre, Alizarin Crimson, and Ultramarine blue. I really enjoy these orchestra paintings, it's all about value, very little color. I gave myself 90 minutes to do this  - I cheated a little bit, but not much. Pretty happy with it. I painted this with Golden Open acrylics on Masonite.

Hold for a Rest

8.5" X 9.5" Painted with a limited palette of White, Yellow Ochre, Alizarin Crimson, and Ultramarine Blue. These are fun little value exercises.
